A Little History of Borth-y-Gest tells the story of the idyllic village near Porthmadog in north Wales

'A Little History of Borth-y-Gest' was launched at the Exhibition of Historic Photographs of Borth-y-Gest and the surrounding area over Easter 2011.

Modern Borth y Gest is almost entirely a mid-nineteenth century creation, but the township of Gest has a history going back into the mists of time, and has associations with romantic figures from the Hundred Years War and the Civil, not to mention William Alexander Madocks. For many years Borth-y-Gest was the departure point of a ferry across the Traeth, and for a short time was a busy ship-building centre. It nearly became a busy seaside resort to rival others round the coast of North Wales. A Little History of Borth-y-Gest tells the story from the beginning.

The book has 68 pages and is an A5 paperback in black and white with a colour cover. There are 3 maps, 13 illustrations and several tables. The ISBN Number is 978-0-9561469-4-6.
